    Call to Order:
    The Yuma County Airport Authority, Inc. (YCAA) Public Relations Committee Meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 12:00PM on September 3, 2025, in the Yuma International Airport Conference Room, 2191 E. 32nd Street, Suite 218, Yuma, Arizona 85365. The Presiding officer was Juan Guzman, Committee Chairman.

    There were no Public Comments.

    REGULAR AGENDA
    1) Public Relations Committee discussion and possible recommendations for event celebration.

    Ms. Brown, Airport Director, introduced the YCAA 60th Anniversary Team who together, collaborate to plan the event details, develop the content, send invitations and reminders, set up the event to ensure it runs smoothly as intended, and handle all cleanup and setup tasks, along with any other responsibilities that may arise.

    Ms. Brown addressed the preliminary exchange of ideas during the last Public Relations Committee Meeting held on April 16, 2025. The discussion included the Anniversary Logo, Challenge Coin, Sticker, Historical Photo Boards, as well as the event date, time, and guest list. The 60th anniversary challenge coin and a Fly Yuma coin tray was presented to the Committee, who expressed their satisfaction with it.

    Ms. Brown proposed several suggestions for event dates and times, including the GA Social on December 10, 2025, at 5:30 PM. She also mentioned December 31, which marks the establishment of the YCAA in 1965. Alternatively, a date can be selected by the Committee. The Committee recommends hosting a separate event on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 5:30 PM. Staff will prepare a save-the-date notice. Additionally, the committee suggests that the Mayor issue a proclamation the day prior at City Hall.

    Ms. Brown, the Airport Director, mentioned that the staff is currently compiling the history of the YCAA from January 1966 to the present and provided an overview of historical events through the years and shared the team plans to select at least three significant events from each decade to feature on the storyboards. The staff will collaborate with a local content creator to ensure the storyboards are polished and professional, thereby establishing a connection to some of the events that occurred. This initiative will facilitate discussions and foster an appreciation for the history of the YCAA. The storyboards will be put on display for the event and then placed on display in the lower level of the terminal.

    Juan Guzman, the Chairman of the Committee, mentioned that discussions regarding airlines can turn into a hot topic. He expressed a desire for talking points to ensure that the entire board is aligned. Ms. Brown said she will prepare appropriate information for Board members. Juan also suggested social media posts with historical content to further recognition of the milestone anniversary throughout the year.
